Education is most power full
weapon that you can use to change the world. It sets up human minds towards
consciousness, curiosity, courage, sensation and then revolution. Whosoever made
a revolution all over the world was on the top of knowledge and science of his
time. It teaches them how to earn lives and what discrimination is between human
being and animal? As well as it tells us that an illiterate person can never be
similar to a literate person, because a literate person can change the world,
and he can turn the humanity to the right path and straight way. He will root
out all evils and devils from society by it, then all heinous crimes will take
place in the bank of the river, in addition to he will annihilate ignorance from
the surface of the earth, as the horns of donkey have been detached from its
heads, while an illiterate person is not able to do so generally. Absolutely
education shows the humanity the way to the sky. To adorn with it a man knows
what other’s rights upon him are, and how to pay it? Thus if any society has
such a man among it, so there will be only happy instead of sorrow. It was the
reason that Socrates has said: Education is the kindling of a flame, not the
filling of a vessels.
But here a practical question at the bottom of it is that so far we have used
all kinds of education system, despite it still we are passing from the age of
darkness. Beside that the wickedness would drop off from our society, it is
growing up day by day and all kinds of evil like rap, gang rap, killing,
burning, eve- teasing and molestation are openly happening throughout the world.
Tyranny and subjugation have become the part of our lives, and there are
raiding, slaying, everywhere in the whole world. And it’s a common thought that,
he who is the most educated, he is the most corrupt and lire.
Answer is very simple that absolutely we have provided higher education; it has
reached to end of its stander. But we have put off cloth of morality, and
morality has no place in our education system. Our educated have nothing to do
with religion; morality, social manner of living and civilization, the fame and
earning money are only objects of their lives. It is really true that till when
the education system was under control of churches in USA and Europe, there the
humanity was respected, each of them was aware from other’s rights. But when it
went under the clutches of materialism they devastated their education system
and colored them in their upon own colors. Hence this system is extremely
against the nature, because every human being was born on the nature of Islam,
but their society and family environment make them worse, so if we want to
change nature we can never change it, thus it is the sole reason to spread
nakedness and nudity today in their cultures. Unfortunately today we have also
accepted their education system and way of living. We wanted to mix reality with
fantasy, so it arose nothing but problems. Today the relief and contentment have
been snatched from our society, because, we seek knowledge only to take relief
and enjoyment, and earning money is our main goal; either it comes by a lawful
way or unlawful way. Our civilized but melancholy band of sprits mull over that
freedom is restricted in religion. It forbids keeping on study, because it has
bounded education around religion. Our common thoughts are that education means
development, lovely life style and pleasant environment as much as it would felt
bed of roses.
Of course education does so, but the quality which we are presenting, has
demolished our education system. The Sunnah of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihe
Wasallam became hurdle for us instead it should be integral part of our society.
We threw out religion from our schools, while it should be main subject of us.
It was a time that when the world was at Muslim’s back and call. But we forgot
our splendid history when another people uses to like to be civilized under
Muslim’s realm, they preferred to live in Muslim colony, for this purpose
sometime they have to pay the hire allot, over and above they considered that if
they live with Muslims, so their cultures, ways of living, cleanliness and
religious environment will help their children to develop and be a gentle
citizen. But today is happening totally opposite that, and it’s a common
approach that where there is a filth and debris there is Muslim. They call
Muslim state, the state of terrorist. And hate to live with us.
At bottom we have differed morality from education system. There is no any
single sign of religion in our education system. We consider the religion means
only to perform Salah five times in a day. As far as social intercourse,
negotiations and characters, so these are out of religions. Absolutely we have a
bundle of doctors, engineers, lowers, pilots, graduates and PHD. But alas!! Our
society is deprived from a Muslim doctors, Muslim engineers, Muslim lowers,
Muslim pilots, Muslim graduates and Muslim PHD who are the best punctual of
religion.
Really morality is the soul of education and religion is its manual book, it
guides it how to go on and how to act upon its purpose, as the thing could not
live without soul, likewise education will die except morality. For example as a
machine cannot work without engine, the same way education can ever acts upon
its purpose and its purpose is to meditate in the creation of Allah Almighty.
Thus the morality is education’s soul and religion in shape of Qur’an and Hadis
is its manual book. Here by it is noticed that education system has categorized
in three systems: the worldly education, the religious education, and the
combined education.
The worldly education means the knowledge of arts, science, history, geography
and medicine etc. These kinds of knowledge are generally sought for two
purposes. Firstly to earn money only, as it is the considered view point of
materialism, secondly to meditate in the creation of Allah Almighty but it
happens casually. As far as first one is concerned, so Islam does not oppose it
completely, yet if it would be accepted as a target, surely Islam prohibits it,
because it keeps the humanity away from A’khrah. And it is widely happened that
the men came into a fortune and lose their happiness, and their health and
finally their lives by it. And as the second one, so it is praiseworthy in the
sight of Allah Almighty, as He said in His Glory book Al-Quran: indeed, in the
creation of heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the
day are signs for people of understanding. (A’le Imran Chapter: 3, A’yah: 190)
The religious education. It consists of two parts. Firstly the obligated one,
means the quality of knowledge by which we can discriminate between lawful and
unlawful and the basic information of Fraez and Sunnah are obligatory for all
Muslim as the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihe Wasallam reported to have said: seeking
knowledge is obligatory for all Muslims. And second one is to equip with all
Islamic teachings it is called Farz-e- Kefayah, that is there should be one such
a person, who has all knowledge of Shariah in a society, otherwise all people
will be sinful.
The combined education means to have Islamic subjects and topics in education
system as it has instituted in modern city. In a way it has so much profits,
that the well to do people’s children who would not bother to come to a Madrasa
and any Islamic institution, now they seem somehow nearer to that, but on the
other hand the ratio of experts in religion (Ulama) are lose.
Let’s have a glance on it with a casual words, thus the ratio of Muslims in
current census is 25 crore in India. Out of them only 4% are in Madras, while a
major amount of people are eager to provide only worldly education to their
children, yet a little number of people want to give their children somehow
Islamic knowledge to send them under Maktab system and part time home tutor. But
it is only in big city, and as far as villages are concerned, so people are not
much more interested there regarding this, it is the reason that you will find
les religious environment in Villages as compare to the cities.
However the general purpose of education is to make economic system well to do
and personally is to earn luxurious life. So to earn lawful income and to
provide a beautiful society to a country is also the object of Islam. But to
seek knowledge for stocking wealth is the cause of deprived. Because it makes
education’s centers the centre of industries only, it devastates its criteria
and makes the society out of action. So it is extreme form of human folly that
they think education beyond of religion, basically the religion, based on only
knowledge, thus the first A’yah of the glorious Qua’an was revealed regarding
it, as it says: “read in the name of your Creator…” as sum up Islam never
opposes worldly education completely, yet it condemns the quality, which is
against the nature. As the poetry of Akbar Allahbadadi reflects it.
Tum shauq se college me pado ya park me jhulo
Mumkin hai Fazaon me udo aur Arsh ko chhulo
Magar is banda-e- nachiz ki ek bat rahe yad
Allah ko aur apni haqiqat ko na bhulo.
Study in a college joyfully, or swing in a garden
May you fly in the air and touch the sky
But keep this humble man’s saying in your mind
Do not forget Allah and your personality.
