The climatic conditions within ourselves are not always the sunshine of
optimism but mostly are clouds of gloom, the fog of depression, the blustery
days of anger, the bolts of pain and the warm breeze of silence.
Behind each of these thoughts is an assumption that life is some kind of a "dice
game" and probably an unfair one, not only does luck seems to determine how we
feel and what happens next, but some people appear to play, with loaded dice,
and seem to get much more out of life than they actually deserve, while others
get much less! If we apply such thinking to the weather, it would be stupid to
say that Sahara desert is being cheated out of moisture by Brazilian rain
forests!
We get what we deserve; nothing that we regard bad is absolutely bad.
Misfortunes have their consolations. It is even difficult to imagine that
suffering is good but consider for a moment it may be possible that life appears
unfair to us, only because we are not watching the completeness of life, or
limited view of existence could be the reason; why we fail to see how and why
every living being gets precisely what its deserves, no more no less!.
Every one suffers misfortunes, but it is at the same time that no one is
uniformly unfortunate. When misfortunes are universal, it is, consoling to find
that we are not one to suffer, but, there are others who are more miserable than
us. This comparative estimate would lessen our sorrows and our life would take
on significance and we would be no longer blame Fickle Fate or happenstance; we
would find it easier to blame others when life is not our way!
From yet another point of view, misfortunes may be danger signals in the path of
our progress and by their timely warnings; we can be saved from other greater
misfortunes. We then learn something new, which keeps us aware about other
things ahead. Here again we may be wrong in our calculations but we become
wiser, even if sadder for a time being.
As life is a bundle of experiences, all experiences are not of the same kind,
some are pleasant while others are unpleasant, It is by experience that we may
over reach ourselves and the result is a fall, but we fall only to rise, and we
rise more firmly and with a certain amount of confidence. Misfortunes tell us
where we stand and they supply the necessary corrective to our ambitions.
There is a good reason for everything that happen to us and this way of
understanding pins the responsibility for what we do and what happens to us is
completely in our own hands. The overall course of our life is determined by
"our decisions" made every instant. Moment to moment, an increasing flow of our
actions carves the channels through which ship of our life sails in future.
That's the natty gritty reality of nature; the sooner we realize it the more we
expand the circle of our contentment.........!
