Surah Nasr is the 110th chapter of the Holy Quran, Surah Nasr ais lso known as Surah Al Nasr. It has a deep and strong message, even if it is only three stanzas long. This surah was revealed in Madinah, making it a Madni surah. This Surah is thought to be among the last revelations imparted to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, therefore marking the approaching conclusion of his prophetic mission.
Meaning and Message of Surah Al Nasr
Surah Al Nasr tells us about one of the most important events in the history of Islam, the conquest of Makkah. After years of difficulty, the Prophet and his followers had finally been granted victory over their enemies by Allah (SWT), resulting in many new converts to Islam. However, the Surah does not celebrate earthly success but rather reminds us of our own humility and the only capacity for glorification of Allah (SWT) and repentance.
Surah Nasr reminds us of the notion that earthly success should not be a source of pride, but rather a reason for opportunity for gratitude and meditative consideration.
