Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do you think that if there was a river by the gate of one of you, and he bathed in it five times each day that there would remain any filth on him? They said: No filth would stay on him. He said: That is the parable of the five prayers, Allah wipes out the sins with them.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهْرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَلْ يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْءٌ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَذَلِكَ مَثَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِنَّ الْخَطَايَا وَفِي الْبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ الْقُرَشِيُّ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ نَحْوَهُ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”بھلا بتاؤ تو صحیح، اگر تم میں سے کسی کے دروازے پر نہر ہو اور وہ اس نہر میں ہر دن پانچ بار نہائے تو کیا اس کے جسم پر کچھ بھی میل کچیل رہے گا؟ صحابہ نے کہا: اس کے جسم پر تھوڑا بھی میل نہیں رہے گا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”یہی مثال ہے پانچوں نمازوں کی، ان نمازوں کی برکت سے اللہ تعالیٰ گناہوں کو مٹا دیتا ہے ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- قتیبہ کہتے ہیں: ہم سے بکر بن مضر قرشی نے ابن الہاد کے واسطہ سے اسی طرح روایت کی ہے۔ ۳- اس باب میں جابر سے بھی روایت ہے۔
