Ibn Umar [may Allah be pleased with him] said: “The Messenger of Allah ordered burning and cutting down the date palms of Banu An-Nadir, and that (place was called Al-Buwairah. So Allah revealed: What you cut down of the Linah, or you left of them standing on their trunks, it was by the leave of Allah, and in order that He might disgrace the rebellious.”

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَرَّقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَخْلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَطَّعَ وَهِيَ الْبُوَيْرَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ:‏‏‏‏ مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَائِمَةً عَلَى أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَلِيُخْزِيَ الْفَاسِقِينَ سورة الحشر آية 5 . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بنی نضیر کے کھجور کے درخت جلا دئیے اور کاٹ ڈالے، اس جگہ کا نام بویرہ تھا، اسی موقع پر اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت «ما قطعتم من لينة أو تركتموها قائمة على أصولها فبإذن الله وليخزي الفاسقين» ”جو ان کے درخت تم نے کاٹے یا ان کو اپنی جڑوں پر قائم ( و سالم ) چھوڑ دیا یہ سب کچھ اذن الٰہی سے تھا، اور اس لیے بھی تھا کہ اللہ ایسے فاسقوں کو رسوا کرے“ ( الحشر: ۵ ) ، نازل فرمائی ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
