Abu Hurairah narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever breaks the fast during Ramadan without an allowance or illness, then if he fasted for all time, his fasting would not make up for it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُطَوِّسِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ وَلَا مَرَضٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَمْ يَقْضِ عَنْهُ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ كُلِّهِ وَإِنْ صَامَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وسَمِعْت مُحَمَّدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَبُو الْمُطَوِّسِ اسْمُهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْمُطَوِّسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا أَعْرِفُ لَهُ غَيْرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے بغیر کسی شرعی رخصت اور بغیر کسی بیماری کے رمضان کا کوئی روزہ نہیں رکھا تو پورے سال کا روزہ بھی اس کو پورا نہیں کر پائے گا چاہے وہ پورے سال روزے سے رہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث کو ہم صرف اسی طریق سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- میں نے محمد بن اسماعیل بخاری کو کہتے سنا کہ ابوالمطوس کا نام یزید بن مطوس ہے اور اس کے علاوہ مجھے ان کی کوئی اور حدیث معلوم نہیں۔
