Narrated Tawus: I asked Ibn `Abbas, What is the meaning of, 'No town dweller should sell (or buy) for a desert dweller'? Ibn `Abbas said, It means he should not become his broker.

حَدَّثَنِي عَيَّاشُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، مَا مَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ : لَا يَبِيعَنَّ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ ؟ فَقَالَ : لَا يَكُنْ لَهُ سِمْسَارًا .

مجھ سے عیاش بن عبدالولید نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے عبدالاعلیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے معمر نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن طاؤس نے، ان سے ان کے باپ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے پوچھا کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اس ارشاد کا مطلب کیا ہے کہ کوئی شہری کسی دیہاتی کا مال نہ بیچے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ مطلب یہ ہے کہ اس کا دلال نہ بنے۔
