حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ إِسْحَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا و قَالَ عُثْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي رَجُلٍ أَحَبَّ قَوْمًا وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ

Urdu Translation

  جریر نے ( سلیمان ) اعمش سے ، انہوں نے ابووائل سے ، انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ ( بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ ) سے روایت کی ، کہا : ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا ، اس نے کہا : اللہ کے رسول! آپ اس شخص کو کیسے دیکھتے ہیں جو کسی قوم سے محبت کرتا ہے مگر ابھی تک اس کے ساتھ نہیں ملا؟ ( اعمال میں ان سے بہت پیچھے ہے ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " آدمی اسی کے ساتھ ہو گا جس سے وہ محبت کرتا ہے ۔ "

English Translation

Abdullah reported that a person came to Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and said to Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ): What is your opinion about the person who loves the people but his (acts or deeds are not identical to theirs)? Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: A person would be along with one whom he loves.
