حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْعَزِيزِ بْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَيْفَ بِكُمْ وَبِزَمَانٍ أَوْ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ زَمَانٌ يُغَرْبَلُ النَّاسُ فِيهِ غَرْبَلَةً تَبْقَى حُثَالَةٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ قَدْ مَرِجَتْ عُهُودُهُمْ وَأَمَانَاتُهُمْ وَاخْتَلَفُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَانُوا هَكَذَا وَشَبَّكَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَكَيْفَ بِنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَأْخُذُونَ مَا تَعْرِفُونَ وَتَذَرُونَ مَا تُنْكِرُونَ وَتُقْبِلُونَ عَلَى أَمْرِ خَاصَّتِكُمْ وَتَذَرُونَ أَمْرَ عَامَّتِكُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ هَكَذَا رُوِيَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تمہارا اس زمانہ میں کیا حال ہو گا؟ یا آپ نے یوں فرمایا: عنقریب ایک زمانہ ایسا آئے گا کہ لوگ چھن اٹھیں گے، اچھے لوگ سب مر جائیں گے، اور کوڑا کرکٹ یعنی برے لوگ باقی رہ جائیں گے، ان کے عہد و پیمان اور ان کی امانتوں کا معاملہ بگڑ چکا ہو گا ( یعنی لوگ بدعہدی اور امانتوں میں خیانت کریں گے ) آپس میں اختلاف کریں گے اور اس طرح ہو جائیں گے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے ایک ہاتھ کی انگلیوں کو دوسرے ہاتھ کی انگلیوں میں ڈال کر بتایا، تو صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اس وقت ہم کیا کریں؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو بات تمہیں بھلی لگے اسے اختیار کرو، اور جو بری لگے اسے چھوڑ دو، اور خاص کر اپنی فکر کرو، عام لوگوں کی فکر چھوڑ دو ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسی طرح عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما سے مرفوعاً اس سند کے علاوہ سے بھی مروی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: How will you do when that time will come? Or he said: A time will soon come when the people are sifted and only dregs of mankind survive and their covenants and guarantees have been impaired and they have disagreed among themselves and become thus, interwining his fingers. They asked: What do you order us to do, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Accept what you approve, abandon what you disapprove, attend to your own affairs and leave alone the affairs of the generality. Abu dawud said: A similar tradition has been transmitted by Abdullah bin Amr from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم through different chain.
