Ibn Juraij said: I said to Ata: 'I heard that you pray twelve rak'ahs before Jumu'ah. What did you hear concerning that?' He said: 'I was told that Umm Habibah bin Abi Sufyan said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs during the day and night, apart from the prescribed prayers, Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, will build for him a house in Paradise.'

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ:‏‏‏‏ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَرْكَعُ قَبْلَ الْجُمُعَةِ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً مَا بَلَغَكَ فِي ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أُخْبِرْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ حَدَّثَتْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ رَكَعَ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ بَنَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ .

ابن جریج کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے عطا سے کہا: مجھے یہ بات پہنچی ہے کہ آپ جمعہ سے پہلے بارہ رکعتیں پڑھتے ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں آپ کو کیا معلوم ہوا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: مجھے خبر دی گئی ہے کہ ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے عنبسہ بن ابی سفیان سے بیان کیا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے:  جس نے رات دن میں فرض کے علاوہ بارہ رکعتیں پڑھیں، تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے لیے جنت میں ایک گھر بنائے گا ۔
