It was narrated from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever fasts six days after the Fitr will have completed the year, for whoever does a good deed will have the reward of ten like it.”

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الذَّمَارِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ صَامَ سِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ بَعْدَ الْفِطْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَانَ تَمَامَ السَّنَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا .

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے غلام ثوبان رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے عید الفطر کے بعد چھ روزے رکھے تو اس کو پورے سال کے روزے کا ثواب ملے گا اس لیے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے: «من جاء بالحسنة فله عشر أمثالها» یعنی جو ایک نیکی کرے گا اسے دس نیکیوں کا ثواب ملے گا ۱؎۔
