Qatadah said: “We used to go to (visit) Anas bin Malik.” (One of the narrators) Ishaq said: “And his baker was standing there.” (In another narration) Darimi said: “And his table was set. He said one day: ‘(Come and) eat, for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never saw any thin loaf of bread until he met Allah, nor any roasted sheep (with skin).’”*

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا نَأْتِي أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ إِسْحَاق:‏‏‏‏ وَخَبَّازُهُ قَائِمٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَ الدَّارِمِيُّ:‏‏‏‏ وَخِوَانُهُ مَوْضُوعٌ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ يَوْمًا:‏‏‏‏ كُلُوا،‏‏‏‏ فَمَا أَعْلَمُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى رَغِيفًا مُرَقَّقًا بِعَيْنِهِ،‏‏‏‏ حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا شَاةً سَمِيطًا قَطُّ .

قتادہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ہم لوگ انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آتے تھے ( اسحاق کی روایت میں یہ اضافہ ہے: اس وقت ان کا نان بائی کھڑا ہوتا تھا، اور دارمی نے اس اضافے کے ساتھ روایت کی ہے کہ ان کا دستر خوان لگا ہوتا تھا یعنی تازہ روٹیوں کا کوئی اہتمام نہ ہوتا ) ، ایک دن انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: کھاؤ، مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کبھی اپنی آنکھ سے باریک چپاتی دیکھی بھی ہو، یہاں تک کہ آپ اللہ سے جا ملے، اور نہ ہی آپ نے کبھی مسلّم بھنی بکری دیکھی۔
