It was narrated that Abu Umamah said: Our Prophet(ﷺ) commanded us to spread (the greeting of) peace.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَمَرَنَا نَبِيُّنَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُفْشِيَ السَّلَامَ .

ابوامامہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں حکم دیا ہے کہ ہم سلام کو عام کریں اور پھیلائیں ۱؎۔
