It was narrated from Umm Salamah that whenever he left his house, the Prophet (ﷺ) would say: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika an adilla aw azilla, aw azlima aw uzlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘alayya (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from going astray or stumbling, from wronging others or being wronged, and from behaving or being treated in an ignorant manner).”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ مَنْزِلِهِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أَزِلَّ،‏‏‏‏ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ،‏‏‏‏ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ .

ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب گھر سے باہر تشریف لے جاتے تو یہ دعا پڑھتے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك أن أضل أو أزل أو أظلم أو أظلم أو أجهل أو يجهل علي» اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں اس بات سے کہ میں راہ بھٹک جاؤں یا پھسل جاؤں، یا کسی پر ظلم کروں، یا کوئی مجھ پر ظلم کرے، یا میں جہالت کروں، یا کوئی مجھ سے جہالت کرے ۔
