It was narrated that Abu Umamah said: “A man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at the first pillar and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which Jihad is best?’ but he kept quiet. When he saw the second Pillar, he asked again, and he kept quiet. When he stoned ‘Aqabah Pillar, he placed his foot in the stirrup, to ride, and said: ‘Where is the one who was asking?’ (The man) said: ‘Here I am, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said: ‘A word of truth spoken to an unjust ruler.’”

حَدَّثَنَا رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَرَضَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ الْجَمْرَةِ الْأُولَى فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْجَمْرَةَ الثَّانِيَةَ سَأَلَهُ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَلَمَّا رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ فِي الْغَرْزِ لِيَرْكَبَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ؟ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ عِنْدَ ذِي سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ .

ابوامامہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   جمرہ اولیٰ کے پاس رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے ایک شخص نے آ کر عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کون سا جہاد سب سے بہتر ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خاموش رہے، پھر جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دوسرے جمرہ کی رمی کی تو اس نے پھر آپ سے یہی سوال کیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خاموش رہے، پھر جب آپ نے جمرہ عقبہ کی رمی کی، تو سوار ہونے کے لیے آپ نے اپنا پاؤں رکاب میں رکھا اور فرمایا: سوال کرنے والا کہاں ہے ؟، اس نے عرض کیا: میں حاضر ہوں، اللہ کے رسول! آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ( سب سے بہتر جہاد ) ظالم حکمران کے سامنے حق و انصاف کی بات کہنی ہے ۔
