It was narrated from ‘Amr bin ‘As that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The heart of the son of Adam has an inclination towards every desirable thing, so whoever follows all of those inclinations, Allah will not care which one will cause his doom. And whoever relies upon Allah, Allah will protect him from the pain of scattered inclinations.”

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ صَالِحُ بْنُ زُرَيْقٍ الْعَطَّارُ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْمُوسَى بْنِ عُلَيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ مِنْ قَلْبِ ابْنِ آدَمَ بِكُلِّ وَادٍ شُعْبَةً،‏‏‏‏ فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ قَلْبُهُ الشُّعَبَ كُلَّهَا،‏‏‏‏ لَمْ يُبَالِ اللَّهُ بِأَيِّ وَادٍ أَهْلَكَهُ،‏‏‏‏ وَمَنْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَفَاهُ التَّشَعُّبَ .

عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ابن آدم کے دل میں دنیا کی ہر چیز کی خواہش ہوتی ہے، جس نے اپنا دل تمام خواہشات کے پیچھے لگا دیا، تو اللہ تعالیٰ کو کوئی پروا نہیں کہ وہ اس کو کس وادی میں ہلاک کرے، اور جس نے اللہ پر بھروسہ کر لیا تو ہر طرح کی خواہش کی فکر اس سے جاتی رہے گی ۔
