Always Peacefully Sit-in and Jovially Stand Up; Congratulations the Patriots of Gilgit-Baltistan

(Abdul Rehman Mir, Islamabad)

It is a renowned fact that the people of the heaven on earth Gilgit-Baltistan have been very hospitable, generous, peaceful, and most importantly loving in every aspect of life. The people of this beautiful region were on roads to protest against the illegal obnoxious tax being imposed upon without constitutional rights and representations. Although, the people of GB have been patriotic and sincere to the nation since its independence from the Dogra Raaj. They have sacrificed for the country even better than the rest of the country. The taxation scenario created confusions and tensions among the masses of GB that led to a gigantic protest against certain decision. The people were of the view that either GB must be given constitutional rights and representation like other provinces. They were right to demand certain rights if it was not possible to give them their due rights then certain critical and sensitive issues must not be tantalized creating deprivations among the masses. Ultimately, the people of GB in categorical collaboration with the provincial government, federal representatives and law enforcement agencies came into agreement to dissolve the current taxation confusion in Gilgit-Baltistan. The current scenario showed the true patriotic spirit of the people of GB that they peacefully expressed their resentment against the obnoxious decision being made by the local government. The people spent many days on roads in the severest cold weather seeking their rights from the government and didn’t even bring any harm to any entity that truly showed that nothing can wash their patriotic mind to the country. They loved, love and will love Pakistan. The beautiful ever green flag hoisting in the sit-in testifies that the people of GB raise the slogan ‘’Long Live Pakistan’’.
