THE HOLY PROPHET LIFE

THE HOLY PROPHET MUHAMMAD (P.B.U.H) AND HIS HOLY LIFE IN THIS WORLD.

It is ingrained in the human nature that he consciously or unconsciously likes to place an ideal or a role model in front of him and then moulds his life accordingly. The human models in general; however tend to fail in one or other aspect of character, action or ideology. It is the Muslim ummah which is fortunate enough to have its own role model which is epitomized by perfection and simply perfection alone, whether be it character, be its action or be it ideological accomplishment. Muhammad (PBUH) the last prophet of ALLAH is the model and ideal for every Muslim or any human being irrespective of color, creed, economic status, social standing or reorganization in society.

When we take a close look at the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) life we find that in his role as a son, as a grandson, as a young man, as a friend, as a guide, as a husband, as a true prophet, as a lighthouse of all shades of character, he excelled beyond any yardstick available for measuring a man’s greatness. Much before ALLAH commanded him to go before his fellowmen and declared himself as ALLAH’s Prophet; he was already an immaculate example of a man’s character. People of Mecca knew and call him “SADIQ” (the truthful in its external best form) and the “AMIN” (the one in whom trust could be reposed and who could be trusted with anything in the world.)

In paying a role of commerce representative of a rich widow of Mecca he excelled to a degree of elation. Later as her husband he was beyond the ideal state of affairs. As nephew of Abu Talib he was most obedient and well-behaved child and youth. As a grandson to Abdul Mutalib he was most endearing child showing signs of developing into an extraordinary human being in the context of notion and character.

The life of Prophet is full of so many anecdotes that million tons of paper and million gallons of ink needed to narrate all those day to day routines which signifies the great character, patience and sacrifice for ALLAH, love of ALLAH and guiding role model for his disciples and newly converted Muslims. One anecdote will explain the commitment in his words, his steadfastness and great adherence to specimen of character. One day the prophet was passing through a marketplace and just then by chance a stranger appeared with bag in which he had placed a few articles he had just purchased from the market. He did not know the prophet and the prophet did not know him at all. He placed the bag in the prophet’s hands and asked him to stay there and hold it until it returns. Now the stranger went and forgets to come back. The holy prophet kept standing at the same place that day the night, which followed the next day, the night which followed the third day. Many of prophet’s companions asked him to leave the place and go home and take rest. It was stranger’s mistake not to have come back but holy prophet refused to move an inch saying that if the stranger returned to reclaim the article he had placed in his hands, he would be disappointed and frustrated.

On the third day the thought suddenly struck the stranger’s mind that he had placed a bag in the hand of a noble looking man at the marketplace and he should go back and see. He rushed and reached the place. He was wonderstruck and almost fainted with amazement when he saw the noble man standing straight with his bag in his hand. He went up to him, apologized and receives his bag. But the commitment and trustworthiness inspired him so much that he started enquiring about the noble man. Everyone told him that he was ALLAH’s prophet and was known for his AMEEN quality. The stranger said that this small gesture and volumes about the noble man and the religion he was preaching these days and he embraced Islam there and then. Later on, the prophet demonstrated more and more of human character and the world at large understood his message and Islam spread like a storm all over.

Overall the character of Holy Prophet (PBUH) was an exemplary one and a role model mot only for Muslims but for the whole humanity. As now days the Muslim world is confronting with such an enemy who is not devastating physically but spiritually also by the projection and exposure to electronic media which is destroying our ethics and moral values. It is the high time that we the Muslims get united by following the exemplary character of our beloved Holy Prophet and save the offspring of the Muslims from this unethical storm of immorality and profanity.
