Ramazan-ul-Mubarak is a most
sacred and holy month of the Muslim calendar. It brings good fortune and endless
blessings of Allah Almighty. It is a month of forbearance that’s rewards is only
Heaven. (Sahih Bokhari, Muslim) Act of fasting was prescribed in all the Shriah
of the Holy Prophets (May peace and Mercy of Allah be upon them) and its main
purpose is to make Muslims pious and God-fearing as mentioned in the Holy Qura,n
“O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for
those before you, that ye may ward off (evil),(The Cow: 183). Salmān (R.A.)
reports: ‘On the last day of Shaʿbān, the Messenger of Allah (upon him blessings
and peace) addressed us and said: “O People, there comes upon you now a great
month, a most blessed month, in which lies a night greater in worth than one
thousand months. It is a month in which Allah has made compulsory that the
fasting should be observed by day; and He has made the tarāwīḥ by night a sunnah.
Whosoever tries drawing nearer to Allāh by performing any virtuous deed in this
month, for him shall be such reward as if he had performed a farḍ (obligatory
observance) in any other time of the year. And whoever performs a farḍ for him
shall be the reward of seventy farḍ in any other time of the year. This is
indeed the month of patience, and the reward for true patience is Jannah
(Paradise); it is the month of sympathy with one’s fellowmen; it is the month
wherein a true believer’s rizq (sustenance) is increased. Whosoever feeds a
fasting person in order to break the fast (at sunset), for him there shall be
forgiveness of his sins and emancipation from the fire of Jahannam (Hell), and
for him shall be the same reward as for him (whom he fed), without that person’s
reward being diminished in the least.” (Mishkat-ul-Masabeeh)
(MThe Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that the first ten days of Ramazan-nul-Mubarak
are for the bounty of Allah , second ten days are for the forgiveness, and the
last ten days declare the salvation from Hell to those who keep fasting. (Bokhari,
Mishkat-ul-Masabeeh )
He (PBUH) said that the former sins of the believers are forgiven who keep
fasting with faith and a sense of accountability. And when the first night of
Ramazan falls, an announcement made on behalf of Allah the most high that He
Loves him who loves He and He meets him who try to meet He, and Allah will
forgive him who seeks forgiveness. Then Allah Orders the twain recording angels
to write only good and not to write evils and to rub off their former sins .(Zubda-tul-Waizeen)
A distinctive feature of Ramazan is that the Holy Qur’an was revealed in this
month from the “Lauh-e-Mahfooz” to the first sky. Whence, it was revealed on the
Holy Prophet (PBUH) during the period of 23 years as the need of the time. Allah
Almighty Orddains,” The month of Ramazan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a
guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance and the criterion (of
right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and
whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of
other days. (The Cow:185)
Qur’an is an authentic source of Islamic dogmas, worships, affairs and lays the
foundation stone of Islamic legislation. It reveals an abridged outline for
individual and social life and guides to all aspects of life as principles.
Recitation of the Holy Qur’an gives the mental and spiritual peace and
tranquility.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that when the month of Ramazan falls all of the
evil design Satan and Jinns tightened in the chains and doors of Hell closed,
and a voice from the Heaven calls “O ye who committing evils stop yourself !and
O the well wisher! Increase yourself in virtues. And a large number of the
people deserving for Hell, are Freed every night. (Tirmadhi, Nasai,
Ibn-e-Maja)Ramazan-nul-Mubarak is about to fall, So We should count for such a
blessed Month and keep fasting.
