Karachi: Every year the Boy
Scouts of America selects extraordinary Scout leaders from all over the world to
take part in training and other camping activities.
Rover Leader of PIA Boy Scouts Association, Dildar rajput, 22 years young man,
was chosen for the responsibility among the candidate from other countries like
Malaysia, U.k, India, Australia and Japan.
The role as an Instructor and Camp counselor is exciting and very challenging.
The life of Boy Scouts of America is entirely different from Pakistan Boy Scouts
in account of program but strive to achieve the common goal preparation and
pursuit for life. The Boy Scouts of America consist of various adventurous and
life challenging program like Climbing tower, canoeing, Swimming, Outdoor
skills, archery, Rifle and Shotgun Shooting.
His responsibility was to teach the subjects called Pioneering, Orienteering and
Citizenship in the World. During the Camp he led almost 1000 students as an
Instructor and conducted various sessions about the Culture of Pakistan,
Citizenship in the World and about different Scouting skills. Every week,
Pakistan day were celebrated by the Boy Scouts of America, presenting the
culture and tradition of Pakistan by showing the scenic pictures of the country,
chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan, singing folk songs, and Flag ceremony was
the part of cultural day. During the camp his participation in different skits
in Camp fires which were highly appreciated by the Scouts.
Dildar, is the first international Scout ever who received the certificate of
good services from the Governor of Arkansas.
Dildar said : I felt really proud whenever my students came up to me for my
autograph and for telling their parents that “Mr. Dildar is my best teacher I
ever had”, and showing their love to Pakistan it was such a proud moment for me
and for my beloved country.
Camp Commissioner Anthony D. Sitz said : Dildar is such a talented and strong
boy, his services is highly appreciable, all of us at Camp Rockefeller enjoyed
his time and will cherish his friendship for many years to come.
