The word mursalat comes from the first verse. Following a series of oaths, the Quran goes on to describe the horrors of the Afterlife for those who reject the Truth. There's also a glimmer of an enlightened point, followed by the refrain. The blessings of just men are occasionally referenced to demonstrate that both rewards and penalties exist, but the former is used for justification and the latter is employed as a warning.

Sura al-Mursalat places a strong emphasis on the coming of the Day of Judgement and its indications, as well as God's gifts to humanity.

Whoever recites this surah with knowledge of its meaning and interpretation will sincerely love the Holy Prophet; he will never associate others with Allah; and if he recites it during a quarrel or conflict with his opponent, he will have the upper hand; a man-in-authority or a judge will also assist him against his enemy.
