حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَتَغَيَّظَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا حَتَّى تَحِيضَ حَيْضَةً أُخْرَى مُسْتَقْبَلَةً سِوَى حَيْضَتِهَا الَّتِي طَلَّقَهَا فِيهَا، فَإِنْ بَدَا لَهُ أَنْ يُطَلِّقَهَا، فَلْيُطَلِّقْهَا طَاهِرًا مِنْ حَيْضَتِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمَسَّهَا، فَذَلِكَ الطَّلَاقُ لِلْعِدَّةِ كَمَا أَمَرَ اللهُ»، وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ طَلَّقَهَا تَطْلِيقَةً وَاحِدَةً، فَحُسِبَتْ مِنْ طَلَاقِهَا، وَرَاجَعَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ كَمَا أَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،

Urdu Translation

  امام زہری کے بھتیجے محمد نے ہمیں اپنے چچا زہری سے حدیث بیان کی ، ( کہا : ) ہمیں سالم بن عبداللہ نے خبر دی کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا : میں نے اپنی بیوی کو اس حالت میں طلاق دی کہ وہ حائضہ تھی ، حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ بات نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بتائی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سخت غصے میں آئے ، پھر فرمایا : " اسے حکم دو کہ اس سے رجوع کرے تا آنکہ اسے اس حیض کے سوا جس میں اس نے اسے طلاق دی ہے دوسرا حیض شروع ہو جائے ۔ اس کے بعد اگر وہ اسے طلاق دینا چاہے تو اسے ( دوسرے حیض کے بعد ) پاک ہونے کی حالت میں ، مباشرت کرنے سے پہلے طلاق دے ، یہی عدت کے مطابق طلاق ہے جس طرح اللہ نے حکم دیا ہے ۔ " اور حضرت عبداللہ ( بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ ) نے اسے ایک طلاق دی تھی اور اس کی وہ طلاق شمار کی گئی اور عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے ، جس طرح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں حکم دیا تھا ، اس سے رجوع کیا

English Translation

Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported: I divorced my wife while she was in the state of menses. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) made mention of it to Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and he was enraged and he said: Command him to take her back until she enters the second ensuing menses other than the one in which he divorced her and in case he deems proper to divorce her, he should pronounce divorce (finally) before touching her (in the period) when she is purified of her menses, and that is the prescribed period in regard to divorce as Allah has commanded. 'Abdullah made a pronouncement of one divorce and it was counted in case of divorce. 'Abdullah took her back as Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) had commanded him.
