Sunan Ibn Majah 1114

It was narrated that Jabir said: “Sulaik Al-Ghatafani came while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: ‘Did you perform two Rak’ah before you came?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Then perform two Rak’ah, but make them brief.’”

حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ سُلَيْكٌ الْغَطَفَانِيُّ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَصَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَجِيءَ؟ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَجَوَّزْ فِيهِمَا .

ابوہریرہ اور جابر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   سلیک غطفانی رضی اللہ عنہ مسجد میں آئے اس وقت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خطبہ دے رہے تھے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: تم نے ( میرے نزدیک ) آنے سے پہلے دو رکعت پڑھ لی ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: جی نہیں، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: دو رکعتیں پڑھ لو، اور ہلکی پڑھو ۱؎۔
