Doosra Kalma
The Dusra Kalma, also known as Doosra Kalma or the Second Kalma. It is one of the six key Kalmas in Islamic Culture. It is a powerful declaration of faith, recited by Muslims to put their belief in the oneness of Allah and the finality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as His messenger.
Dosra Kalma-Shahadat
اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَہٗ لَاشَرِيْكَ لَہٗ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهٗ وَرَسُولُہٗ
میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمد اس کے بندے اور رسول ہیں۔
English Meaning
“Verily, you are coming to a people among the humans of the Book (Ahl Kitab), so call them to testify there is no God but Allah and I am the Messenger of Allah.” (Al-Bukhari 1422H)
Dusra Kalma Meaning
Dusra Kalma is interpreted as: "There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." In short, it reminds Muslims that Allah is the Almighty God and Prophet Muhammad is his final messenger who brings the guidance meant for humanity.
Dusra Kalma Importance in Islam
Doosra Kalma not only represents belief but also acts as a reminder of the fundamental nature of Islam. In Salah, the Muslims recite it daily as part of their commitment and submission before Allah. The Kalma enables a Muslim to fortify the base of his faith; it also is an emblem of oneness within the Muslim Ummah.
