For Whom Eid Prayer is Wajib?
Eid is considered the most important religious celebration that carried out after fasting for a month. On a day of Eid, Eid prayer is wajib and which Muslim people perform in the morning time of Eid day. Eid prayer is Wajib for the people on which Jummah prayer is wajib, according to Hanafi.
There are two Eids are celebrate every year by Muslims in which they also perform mandatory Eid prayers. The first Eid Muslims celebrate after fasting for the whole month in Ramadan, known as Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.
The second Eid, known as Eid-ul-Adha, observes on the tenth day of Dhu al Hijja, last month of the Islamic calendar.
For whom Eid Prayer is Wajib:
Eid prayer is not Wajib for all, but according to Hanafi, Eid prayer is Wajib to whom on which Jummah prayer is wajib. Explanation of Eid prayer is wajib in the reference from Book Durr-e-Mukhtar, volume 3, and page 51.
“The Salah of both Eids (i.e., Eid-ul-Fiṭr and Eid-ul-Aḍḥā) is Wajib, but only for those people whom Ṣalāt-ul-Jumu’aĥ is Wājib for. Furthermore, neither Ażān nor Iqāmat uttered for the Ṣalāĥ of both Eids. (Baĥār-e-Sharī’at, vol. 1, pp. 779; Durr-e-Mukhtār, vol. 3, pp. 51)”
The above reference, according to Hanafi from book Durr-e-Mukhtar, clearly describe that Eid prayer is wajib only on those whom Friday prayer is wajib.
