Shab E Barat Ke Roze
Fasting is not a requirement of Shab-e-Barat and it is voluntary, not obligatory. However, as per some sources, it is established that keeping fast in Ramadan is a highly favorite of prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Even there is some evidence of Shab e Barat ke Roze in some Hadees indirectly.
“Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa Radiallahu Anha Farmati Hai Rasool Allah ﷺ Shabaan Se Zyada Kisi Mahine Me Roza Naa Rakha Karte Balki Pura Shabaan hi Roza Rakh Liya karte the Aur farmaya Karte Apni Istitaat Kay mutabik Amal karo ki Allah Us wakt Apna Fazl Nahi rokhta Jab Tak tum Uqta naa jao”

There is only one weak hadeeth about fasting on the 15th of Sha'baan. However, it is Sunnah to fast on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every month. Fasting is encouraged on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every Islamic month But scholars say that fasting is not a requirement of Shab-e-Barat and it will be voluntary. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said, “Shaban is my month. Shaban cleanses the sins.” So, fasting on Shab e Barat is not forbidden.
