p>Each year, Muslims observe Baqr Eid or Bari Eid with high enthusiasm. The aim of observing Bakra Eid has connected with the centuries-old history. Allah ordered Hazrat Ibrahim (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) to give the sacrificial of his beloved child Hazrat Ismail (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him). However, Allah sent a lamb from heaven that was sacrificed in place of his beloved son. It is a reason that on Bakr Eid, Muslims sacrifice animals in the remembrance of both these Prophets (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Them).
Animals that can be sacrificed on Eid ul Adha
When talking about the eligible animals, female or male ram, goat, cow, sheep, and buffalo are all permissible. In terms of age, a ram, sheep, and goat must of 1 year, a buffalo and cow of 2 years, and a camel of 5 years.
It is noted that if the animal’s age is less than this then the sacrificial is not allowed. However, animal older than this age is allowed. On the other side, if a six-month-old baby of ram or sheep is so huge that by appearance the ram or sheep looks like twelve months old then it is allowed.
It is compulsory for a person who is Sahib-e-Nisab to slaughter one ram, goat, and sheep. However, he/she can also do a Qurbani of not less than a seventh of buffalo, cow, and camel. A person who can afford can do a sacrifice of more than a seventh and seven or lesser people can take part in a Qurbani of camel, cow, and buffalo.
