Shah Faisal mosque is the largest mosque situated nestled in foot of Margalla Hill, Islamabad. It is one of iconic mosque in Asia followed by ultra modern and traditional architecture designs, consists of eight sides of concrete shells. The main prayer hall can hold 100,000 people at a time. It was a gift from King Faisal of Saudi Arabia. Combined structure of the mosque is an area of 54,000 square feet. It was the largest mosques in the world till 1986-1993 but now it’s the fourth largest mosque in terms of its capacity.
