اپنی ہی معرفت نے تمہارا پتہ دیا
در در کی ٹھوکروں نے شرف کو مٹا دیا
قدرت نے کیوں غریب کو انساں بنا دیا

اللہ رے جبہہ سائی خاک حریم دوست
بندے کو بندہ سجدے کو سجدا بنا دیا
حس مردہ تھی حیات مسلسل میں زیست کی
تخریب زندگی نے پیام بقا دیا
پھر اس کے گھر میں ہو نہ سکی روشنی کبھی
جس کا چراغ تو نے جلا کر بجھا دیا
کوئی خوشی خوشی نہیں اپنے لیے شفیقؔ
کس کی نگاہ نے سبق غم پڑھا دیا
یوں اپنی حسرتوں کو جگانا پڑا مجھے
میں نے تو کھیل کھیل میں توڑا تھا اس کا دل
پھر ساری عمر اس کو منانا پڑا مجھے
جب عشق اک غریب سے مجھ کو ہوا تو پھر
دل کا جو مول تھا وہ گھٹانا پڑا مجھے
اس نے کہا میں جی نہیں پاؤں گی تیرے بن
اس واسطے وہ رشتہ نبھانا پڑا مجھے
فیصلؔ وہ سارے لوگ تھے بہرے اسی لیے
خاموش رہ کے شور مچانا پڑا مجھے
دھندلا سا چہرہ یاد آتا ہے
یاس کی تیرگی میں ہر جانب
چاند سا مکھڑا مسکراتا ہے
وہ ہی جینے کا اک سہارا ہے
ورنہ دل ہے کہ اوب جاتا ہے
عشق کی نبض جب پھڑکتی ہے
قلب کا ساز گنگناتا ہے
اس کی یادوں کی شبنمی پاکر
غنچہٴ شوق کھلکھلاتا ہے
شعر گوئی نہیں مری عادت
جذبہٴ عشق کہلواتا ہے
بے خودی میں انھیں بلاتا ہوں
جب قدم میرا لڑکھڑاتا ہے
دل بھی نازک مزاج ہے بے حد
ہلکی ٹھوکر سے ٹوٹ جاتا ہے
پیار کے خستہ جاں مزاروں پر
آنسوٴوں کے دیے جلاتا ہے
کوئی تحفہ نہیں ہے دینے کو
پھول کے بدلے غم چڑھاتا ہے
دیکھتے ہی کوئی حسیں منظر
یاد ماضی کو گدگداتا ہے
کتنا نادان ہے خلیلی بھی
