"It was not in our fate. This is an expression which all of us use in our daily lives. We don't put enough efforts, and then blame our dates, and same thing happened with us when we watched World cup performance of Pakistani cricket team. Apart from appreciation, if I talk about the causes which became the reasons of its downfall are
1) Lost match from West Indies:
That first match became the reason of its downfall. That match was not tough, but due to some pressure they couldn't make their place.
2) Don't have decision making power:
Our captain needs to learn that what should be done when he wins toss. If you are not a chase master then you should not take bowling first and that is what captain did in West Indies match.
3) The fielding:
Fielding of the Pakistani team is in torment condition, and it has been in bad condition. God knows better what this team does in the cricket ground. May be they don't take tournament take serious. They are not energetic enough to have a look at all sides. They drop catches easily.
4) Consistency:
As we all know that Pakistani team is unpredictable, and it surprises us every time. Sometimes it loses from the lowest teams and sometimes it beats the favourites. It is not consistent just like India. It doesn't come with planning.
5) Hard work is lacking:
All the criticism triggers them to work hard in next match, but not all the times. By eating pizza and junk food, their energy gets low, and they don't perform well.
I would like to say that "God helps those who help themselves." If you don't put enough efforts and don't work hard enough then how can you blame your fate. The prayers work but not everytime. Prayers with making efforts work simultaneously.
