5 obligatory prayers & 119
poses (7 poses per Rakkah) are exercised by a Muslim in daily routine.
Several studies based on research by various neurophysiologists, medical
specialists & physiotherapists revealed the medical importance of
Namaz.Ablutions following all the steps, devotion with which a person recites
the verses and the postures involved in every single Rakkah have prominent
effectson thermoregulatory , neurophysiological,
urinary,muscular,gastrointestinal and respiratory systems.
Starting from ablution (Wuddu), water touches the human body on the surfaces
having shallow vessels which maintains the thermoregulatory process of the body
and magnifies the heat dissipation.
First posture of Namaz is steel rod like erect back which eradicates all the
backache problems and gives relaxing effect. It has become evidentby
variousresearchusing single photon CT-scanthat,when a Muslim recites the verses
of Quran with full devotion, blood circulation to brain is increased which in
turn escalatesthe oxygen supply to brain.
Sajda is the posture when you are closest to Allah and hence it is the best
posture to expunge all the diseases out of your body. When u bend forward, it
drains all the sinuses(empty spaces in your skull)and expels secretions of the
bronchioles (small airways in lungs) preventing sinusitis (inflammation of
sinuses) and bronchitis(inflammation of bronchioles) respectively. It is the
only posture when level of your brain is lower than your heart level which
increase the blood circulation towards head portion thus boosts oxygen supply to
brain, eyes and face which strengthens the vision and enhances the beauty by
improving the facial complexion. During normal breathing we exhale 2/3rd of
oxygen inside the lungs but when we bend forward remaining 1/3rd is also exhaled
thus it renews all the air.During prostration, intestines are pressed in such a
way that it prevents constipation.Kidneys are sponge like bean shaped organ, in
prostration this sponge is pressed and drains all the liquid present inside
which in normal posture is accumulated in the kidney, hence, in this way it
prevents formation of kidney stones (nephrolithiasis). In the vertebrae of
backbone, between the discs there is a pulpy jelly like nucleas, which in
erectposition, is lack of required oxygen supply, but when you lean forward
discs expands providing more surface area for oxygen to enter.
All the postures exercised during namaz increase the muscle tone of back,
thighs, calvesand abdomen which make the person get rid of sciatic pain also.
So, Namaz is a prescription from ALLAH for better health of Muslims. It must be
reminded that prayer is not meant to be an exercise, though there are many
health benefits associated with it.
‘O Mankind, There has come to you adirection from your Lordand ahealing forthe
