Muharram is the first month of
Islamic calendar.It is the sacred month in which Imam Hussain was martyred with
his tribe when he tried to save islam at the ground of Karbala.Hundreds of years
have passed but this day he was martyred is known as "Ashura". "Majalis" are
held at this day and Matam is done by boys.This is known as "Azadari".On 9th and
10th of Muharram there is a public holiday and every business remain close.The
sacrifice of Imam Hussain is also told to children in schools so that they may
also be aware of sacrifices.People also distributer "Niaz".It is food given to
people and poor for the sake of Imam Hussain.But still there are some sects in
Muslim who have differnt thinkings of this event.
