Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, Stretches out His Hand during the night so that the people may repent for the fault committed from dawn till dusk and He stretches out His Hand during the day so that the people may repent for the fault committed from dusk to dawn. (He would accept repentance) before the sun rises in the west (before the Day of Resurrection).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ لِيَتُوبَ مُسِيءُ النَّهَارِ وَيَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ بِالنَّهَارِ لِيَتُوبَ مُسِيءُ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا

  محمد بن جعفر نے کہا : ہمیں شعبہ نے عمرہ بن مرہ سے حدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نے کہا : میں نے ابوعبید کو حضرت ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا ، انہوں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا : " اللہ عزوجل رات کو اپنا دست ( رحمت بندوں کی طرف ) پھیلا دیتا ہے تاکہ دن کو گناہ کرنے والا توبہ کرے اور دن کو اپنا دست ( رحمت ) پھیلا دیتا ہے تاکہ رات کو گناہ کرنے والا توبہ کرے ( اور وہ اس وقت تک یہی کرتا رہے گا ) یہاں تک کہ سورج مغرب سے طلوع ہو جائے ۔ "
