کتنے بیدرد ہیں یہ لوگ زمانے والے
اہلِ کوفہ نے بلایا تو چلے آئے ہیں
کیسے سادہ ہیں محمد کے گھرانے والے
رحم کرتے ہیں تو اس کی بھی نہیں حد کوئی
کسی سفاک کو خاطر میں نہ لانے والے
فیصلہ آپ کریں، آپ کو کرنا کیا ہے؟
آپ پر چھوڑتے ہیں شمع بجھانے والے
ظلم کے تیروں سے چھلنی ہیں حسین ابنِ علی
غلبۂ کفر سے دنیا کو بچانے والے
ظلم کرنے پہ تلی بیٹھی ہے دنیا ساری
اور ہم لوگ فقط سوگ منانے والے
عرصۂ دہر میں باقی نہیں رہتا کچھ بھی
خاک ہو جاتے ہیں خیموں کو جلانے والے
کس کو معلوم کہ دن بھر کے تھکے ہارے ہوئے
شام کو اپنے لہو میں ہیں نہانے والے
کیا بتائیں تجھے کیا چیز ہے یہ تشنہ لبی
خشک ہو جاتے ہیں دریا نظر آنے والے
جو بچاتے نہیں کل کے لیے اک دانہ بھی
وہی درویش ہیں عقبیٰ کے خزانے والے
درِ مولا پہ پڑے ہیں تو بڑے ہیں شہزاد
یہ پرندے نہیں اڑ کر کہیں جانے والے
فراق کا شروع سلسلہ نہ کرنا
قوانین عشق میں پہلا قانون یہ ہے
درد سہنا مگر گلہ نہ کرنا
ہجر لشکر کہی ہزار ہیں پیچھے
رفتارِ محبت صنم آہستہ نہ کرنا
جو چاہے کرنا مگر خیال رکھنا
یقین توٹے کچھ ایسا نہ کرنا
دورِ جدید کا پہلا سبق یہ ہے
کبھی دشمن کا بھلا نہ کرنا
مجھے دیکھنے دو نظارائے حُسن
خدا کا واسطہ منع نہ کرنا
نہال درد لکھو تُم ضرور لکھو
مگر محفلوں میں پڑھا نہ کرنا
اہل ِاُلفت سے وفاؤں کا تقاضا کیسا
اے مجھے پتھر کا صنم کہنے والے
پتھروں سے بتا تجھے یہ شکوہ کیسا
منزل طلب نہ کر اے راہ رو ِ محبت
نہ خبر تھی تجھ کو ہے یہ سودا کیسا
یہ سوز تو دل کو محبوب ہوا کرتا ہے
پروانے سے پوچھو جلنے کا مزا کیسا
ارماں ہی رہا میرا کبھی آئے رضا وہ
پوچھے کبھی مجھ سے حال میرا کیسا
