جو چاہا وہ نہ پایا جو نہ چاہا وہ پایا
ہر خوشی کا حصہ امید سے کم پایا
کیسا کیسا ہم نے نصیب سے غم پایا
مسکراہٹ کے بدلے آنکھوں میں نم آیا
جب خوشیوں کے لمحوں میں یاد تیرا غم آیا
گردشِ ایام نے کچھ ایسا ستم ڈھایا
کچھ ہم نے سیکھنے کا مادہ ہی کم پایا
اس نے کہا ہمیں تیری باتوں پہ نہ اعتبار ہے
میں نے کہا تیری محبت میری دعاؤں کا صلہ ہے
اس نے کہا تیری محبت میں ہمیں تو غم ہی ملا ہے
میں نے کہا مجھے تیری محبت پہ بڑا مان ہے
اس نے کہا میری ہر نظم کا تو ہی عنوان ہے
میں نے کہا ہم آپ جیسے دوستوں سے ڈرتے ہیں
