چراغِ عالمِ افروز کا کریں گے کیا
بس اک دیا ہے بہت گھر میں روشنی کیلئے
ابھی تو خود سے بھی واقف نہیں ہوا ہوں میں
اک عمر گزری بھٹکتا ہوں آگہی کیلئے
دکھائی دیں گل و گلزار کاغزی سے ندیم
جو آج پاس نہیں تم شگفتگی کیلئے
یہ زہر میرے لہو میں ا،تر گیا کیسے
کچھ اَس کے دل میں لگاوٹ ضرور تھی ورنہ
وہ میرا ہاتھ دبا کر گزر گیا کیسے
ضرور اَس کی توجہ کی رہبری ہوگی
نشے میں تھا تو میں اپنے ہی گھر گیا کیسے
جِسے بَھلائے کئی سال ہو گئے کامل
میں آج اَس کی گلی سے گزر گیا کیسے
میں ہوش میں تھا تو پھر اَس پہ مر گیا کیسے
یہ زہر میرے لہو میں اتر گیا کیسے
ہم تو قاتل کے بھی جینے کی دعا کرتے ہیں
یاد اپنوں کی جب بھی آتی ہے
اشک آنکھوں سے بہا کرتے ہیں
پیار وہ کیوں نہیں ہمیں ملتا
جو کتابوں میں پڑھا کرتے ہیں
دل میں تم کو بسا لیا ہم نے
ساتھ تیرے ہی رہا کرتے میں
لاش کو دیکھ کے رکا نہ کوئی
کیسی دنیا میں جیا کرتے ہیں
