Ameer Khusro Poetry - Ameer Khusro was an iconic figure in the cultural history of the Indian subcontinent. He was born in 1253 A.D. in Patiyala, India. Amir Khusro was educated in theology, Persian and the Quran.

He started poetry writing from early age and he emerged as one of the most original poets of India, revolutionizing new metaphors and similes. He was a mystic and a spiritual disciple of Nizamuddin Auliya of Delhi, India. He wrote poetry in Persian, Handvi And Urdu language which is counted as the finest piece of art. He penned in many verse forms including ghazal, qata, masnavi, rubai, do-baiti and tarkib-band. Khusrau had a sole distinction of serving with many princes, chiefs, and emperors like Malik Alauddin Kashlu Khan alias Malik Chhajju, Bughra Khan, Khan Mohammad, Sardar Hatim Khan, Kaikobad, Jalaluddin Firoze Khilji, Alauddin Khilji, Qutbuddin Mubarak Shah, Gheyasuddin Tughlaq and Mohammad Tughlaq. Even while he held high positions in several courts, he remained a devoted disciple of Hazrat Nizamuddin from whom he sought his spiritual strength, and at whose feet he lies buried.
