خود عمر بھر اسیر لب مدعا رہے
مثل حباب بحر غم حادثات میں
ہم زیر بار منت آب و ہوا رہے
ہم اس سے اپنی بات کا مانگیں اگر جواب
لہروں کا پیچ و خم وہ کھڑا دیکھتا رہے
آیا تو اپنی آنکھ بھی اپنی نہ بن سکی
ہم سوچتے تھے اس سے کبھی سامنا رہے
گلشن میں تھے تو رونق رنگ چمن بنے
جنگل میں ہم امانت باد صبا رہے
سرخی بنے تو خون شہیداں کا رنگ تھے
روشن ہوئے تو مشعل راہ بقا رہے
امجدؔ در نگار پہ دستک ہی دیجئے
اس بے کراں سکوت میں کچھ غلغلہ رہے
