بے چشمِ دل نہ کر ہوسِ سیرِ لالہ زار
یعنی یہ ہر ورق ورقِ انتخاب ہے
اسد! اٹھنا قیامت قامتوں کا وقتِ آرایش
لباسِ نظم میں بالیدنِ مضمونِ عالی ہے
ہستی‘ فریب نامۂ موجِ سراب ہے
یک عمر نازِ شوخیِ عنواں اٹھایئے
گر مصیبت تھی‘ تو غربت میں اٹھا لیتا‘ اسد
میری‘ دلی ہی میں ہونی تھی یہ خواری‘ ہائے ہائے!
اسد! بندِ قباے یار‘ ہے فردوس کا غنچہ
اگر وا ہو‘ تو دکھلا دوں کہ یک عالم گلستاں ہے
ہم مشقِ فکر وصل و غم ہجر سے‘ اسد!
لائق نہیں رہے ہیں غَمِ روزگار کے
