بچھڑ کے مجھ سے یہ مشغلہ اختیار کرنا
ہوا سے ڈرنا بجھے چراغوں سے پیار کرنا
کھلی زمینوں میں جب بھی سرسوں کے پھول مہکیں
تم ایسی رت میں سدا مرا انتظار کرنا
جو لوگ چاہیں تو پھر تمہیں یاد بھی نہ آئیں
کبھی کبھی تم مجھے بھی ان میں شمار کرنا
کسی کو الزام بے وفائی کبھی نہ دینا
مری طرح اپنے آپ کو سوگوار کرنا
تمام وعدے کہاں تلک یاد رکھ سکو گے
جو بھول جائیں وہ عہد بھی استوار کرنا
یہ کس کی آنکھوں نے بادلوں کو سکھا دیا ہے
کہ سینۂ سنگ سے رواں آبشار کرنا
میں زندگی سے نہ کھل سکا اس لیے بھی محسنؔ
کہ بہتے پانی پہ کب تلک اعتبار کرنا
