عید آنے کو ہے
آج چاند رات ہے
کھل اٹھی خوشی کی کلیاں
سج گئی بازار کی سب گلیاں
شام ڈھلے ہر طرف
اک شور کا سماں ہے
دیکھو چاند کہاں ہے
پھر نجانے کیوں
بہت دیر ہوگئی
چاند نظر نہ آیا
گہرے بادلوں میں چھپا ہے کہیں
یا بھول گیا ہے اپنی راہ کہیں
ہاں نم آنکھوں کی نمی دیکھ لی اس نے
گرد آلود یہ اداس چہرے
یہ سسکیاں یہ آہ فغاں
ٹوٹے ہوئے در و دیوار یہ
قبروں پہ رونق دیکھ لی اس نے
تھک گئے آخر مایوس ہو کر بولے سب لوگ
چلو بھائی چاند نظر نہیں آیا
