رات میں اس کشمکش میں ایک پل سویا نہیں
کل میں جب جانے لگا تو اس نے کیوں روکا نہیں
یوں اگر سوچوں تو اک اک نقش ہے سینے پہ نقش
ہائے وہ چہرہ کہ پھر بھی آنکھ میں بنتا نہیں
کیوں اڑاتی پھر رہی ہے در بدر مجھ کو ہوا
میں اگر اک شاخ سے ٹوٹا ہوا پتا نہیں
آج تنہا ہوں تو کتنا اجنبی ماحول ہے
ایک بھی رستے نے تیرے شہر میں روکا نہیں
حرف برگ خشک بن کر ٹوٹتے گرتے رہے
غنچۂ عرض تمنا ہونٹ پر پھوٹا نہیں
درد کا رستہ ہے یا ہے ساعت روز حساب
سیکڑوں لوگوں کو روکا ایک بھی ٹھہرا نہیں
شبنمی آنکھوں کے جگنو کانپتے ہونٹوں کے پھول
ایک لمحہ تھا جو امجدؔ آج تک گزرا نہیں
