اپنی دنیا دیکھ ذرا
اتنی خلقت کے ہوتے
شہروں میں ہے سناٹا
جھونپڑی والوں کی تقدیر
بجھا بجھا سا ایک دیا
خاک اڑاتے ہیں دن رات
میلوں پھیل گئے صحرا
زاغ و زغن کی چیخوں سے
سونا جنگل گونج اٹھا
سورج سر پہ آ پہنچا
گرمی ہے یا روز جزا
پیاسی دھرتی جلتی ہے
سوکھ گئے بہتے دریا
فصلیں جل کر راکھ ہوئیں
نگری نگری کال پڑا
