پسپا ہوئی سپاہ تو پرچم بھی ہم ہی تھے
حیرت کی بات یہ ہے کہ برہم بھی ہم ہی تھے
گرنے لگے جو سوکھ کے پتے تو یہ کھلا
گلشن تھے ہم جو آپ تو موسم بھی ہم ہی تھے
ہم ہی تھے تیرے وصل سے محروم عمر بھر
لیکن تیرے جمال کے محرم بھی ہم ہی تھے
منزل کی بے رخی کے گلہ مند تھے ہمیں
ہر راستے میں سنگ مجسم بھی ہم ہی تھے
اپنی ہی آستیں میں تھا خنجر چھپا ہوا
امجدؔ ہر ایک زخم کا مرہم بھی ہم ہی تھے
