حج میں سَعی کرتے کرتے
تھک کر دو پَل بیٹھ گیا میں،
سُنتا ہوں آواز اَنجانی
قدموں کی اِک چاپ پُرانی
روتے اِک معصوم کی چِیخیں!
حیراں ششدر گُم صُم تھا میں
سوچ رہا تھا، چُپ چُپ تھا میں
حال میں مجھ کو دیکھ کے ایسے
سب سے آنکھ بچا کر جیسے
مَروَہ میرے کان میں بولی
غور سے سُن نادان لاہوری"
بھُول کے اپنی ذات کو کیسے
ننھی سی اِک جان کے غم میں
تپتے اِک صحرا میں تنہا
ماں کی ممتا دوڑ رہی ہے"
