تھا عبث ترک تعلق کا ارادہ یوں بھی
عشق زندہ نہیں رہتا ہے زیادہ یوں بھی
اک تو ان آنکھوں میں نشہ تھا بلا کا اس پر
ہم کو مرغوب ہے کیفیت بادہ یوں بھی
نامہ بر اس سے نہ احوال ہمارا کہنا
وہ تنک خو ہے بگڑ جائے مبادا یوں بھی
سو گئے ہم بھی کہ بیکار تھا رستہ تکنا
اس کو آنا ہی نہیں تھا شب وعدہ یوں بھی
کچھ تو وہ حسن پشیماں ہے جفا پر اپنی
اور کچھ اس کے لیے دل تھا کشادہ یوں بھی
کوچ کر جاتے ہیں ہم کوئے محبت سے فرازؔ
ان دنوں چاک گریباں ہیں زیادہ یوں بھی
