پھر اس کے بعد ہمیں آئنوں سے ڈرنا ہے
فلک کی بند گلی کے فقیر ہیں تارے!
کہ گھوم پھر کے یہیں سے انہیں گزرنا ہے
جو زندگی تھی مری جان! تیرے ساتھ گئی
بس اب تو عمر کے نقشے میں وقت بھرنا ہے
جو تم چلو تو ابھی دو قدم میں کٹ جائے
جو فاصلہ مجھے صدیوں میں پار کرنا ہے
تو کیوں نہ آج یہیں پر قیام ہو جائے
کہ شب قریب ہے آخر کہیں ٹھہرنا ہے
وہ میرا سیل طلب ہو کہ تیری رعنائی
چڑھا ہے جو بھی سمندر اسے اترنا ہے
سحر ہوئی تو ستاروں نے موند لیں آنکھیں
وہ کیا کریں کہ جنہیں انتظار کرنا ہے
یہ خواب ہے کہ حقیقت خبر نہیں امجدؔ
مگر ہے جینا یہیں پر یہیں پہ مرنا ہے
