پھر موسمِ بہار مِرے گُلستاں میں ہے
اِک خواب ہے کہ بارِ دگر دیکھتے ہیں ہم
اِک آشنا سی روشنی سارے مکاں میں ہے
تابِش میں اپنی مہر و مہ و نجم سے سَوا
جگنو سی یہ زمِیں جو کفِ آسماں میں ہے
اِک شاخِ یاسمین تھی کل تک خِزاں اَثر
اور آج سارا باغ اُسی کی اماں میں ہے
خوشبو کو ترک کر کے نہ لائے چمن میں رنگ
اتنی تو سُوجھ بُوجھ مِرے باغباں میں ہے
لشکر کی آنکھ مالِ غنیمت پہ ہے لگی
سالارِ فوج اور کسی اِمتحاں میں ہے
ہر جاں نثار یاد دہانی میں منہمک
نیکی کا ہر حساب دِل دوستاں میں ہے
حیرت سے دیکھتا ہے سمندر مِری طرف
کشتی میں کوئی بات ہے، یا بادباں میں ہے
اُس کا بھی دھیا ن جشن کی شب اے سپاہِ دوست
باقی ابھی جو تِیر، عُدو کی کماںمیں ہے
بیٹھے رہیں گے، شام تلک تیرے شِیشہ گر
یہ جانتے ہُوئے، کہ خسارہ دُکاں میں ہے
مسند کے اِتنے پاس نہ جائیں کہ پھر کَھلے
وہ بے تعلّقی جو مِزاجِ شہاں میں ہے
ورنہ یہ تیز دھوپ تو چبُھتی ہَمَیں بھی ہے
ہم چُپ کھڑے ہُوئے ہیں کہ تُو سائباں میں ہے
