Wasif Ali Wasif Poetry - Wasif Ali Wasif is a well-known educationist, writer, poet, reformer and mystic intellectual. He was born on 15 January 1929. He was popular for his one of a kind abstract style. He used to compose short pieces of writing on subjects like love, life, fortune, trust, desire, expectation, promise, prayer, happiness, etc. Numerous M Phil and Ph.D. theories have been led in different Universities of Pakistan on his life and work.
He was also a columnist in Nawa-e-Waqt Newspaper. His first-ever column entitled “Muhabbat” (love) published in 1984 in the literature section of Nawa-i-Waqt, bewildered many in literary circles. He is said to have been referred to in citations more than some other contemporary Urdu writer. He has written many books including Shab Chiragh (Urdu Poetry) 1978, Kiran Kiran Sooraj (Aphorism), The Beaming Soul (English Version of Kiran Kiran Sooraj), Dil Darya Samundar (Essays), Qatra Qatra Qulzum.
Wasif had an interest in Sufism from his childhood. He strived to meet Sufis and visited various shrines. He was a dynamic personality in Urdu literature.
