A NIGHTMARE

Poet: By: Naushahi, Majid ul Hassan, Mississauga, ON. Canada

Weather was very rough and unfair,
Snow, hailing, rain and chilling air,
All over rivers, lakes, hills ‘n plains,
Highways, streets, buildings ‘n everywhere.

Safest place I found was my bed.
Ah! Softy and Acrylic warm blanket,
The fluffy fluffy pillow under my head,
Helped me to a deep sleep like; a dead.

Soon I witnessed a strange nightmare;
My wife and I were riding a donkey in stead of a mare.
The path was even and weather was fair.
It looked sunny and the sky as; clear.

With a roar of a lorry’s horn from the rear
Suddenly the stupid donkey began to jump.
Nearly I could fall with the repeated bumps,
My wife screamed,” Tightly, hold its ears”.

With full force and both hands, I caught its ears
So that I shouldn’t fall together with my dear.
My bad-luck, when awoke, I was holding my ears.
I was ashamed and my eyes filled with tears.
